Together for Texas
I recently had the opportunity to give back in the best way I know how.. Creative work.
My friends at Abel Reels, Tailwaters, & Airflo put together a solid giveaway / raffle put together a solid giveaway / raffle to raise funds for our friends in the Texas Hill Country and I contributed some design work.
Our hearts remain broken for the lost souls and shattered families affected by the horrific flash floods that tore through the Texas Hill Country just over one month ago. This tragedy hit close to home for so many, especially close friends of Tailwaters. Families have lost homes, livelihoods, and in many cases, loved ones. These are not just fellow Texans—they are our neighbors, our fishing buddies, our friends and clients and we pray everyday for a glimmer of normalcy within these peoples lives as well as the Camp Mystic Family.
There is and will be more work to be done to rebuild this community in the months to come. Amid the heartbreak, we’ve been inspired by the overwhelming support pouring in from across Texas. As Texas’ Fly shop, we are looking to cast our net wide into the fly fishing industry for more support in an attempt to contribute to those affected.
To continue support efforts, we’ve partnered with our friends at Abel Reels in Montrose, CO and Airflo Fly Lines to raffle off a Texas Flag Abel SDF 6/7 reel + a 7wt Airflo Redfish line with 100% of Proceeds going flood relief to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and the Hunt County Volunteer Fire Fighting Department. Raffle tickets are $25 a piece to support and enter with the chance of winning this special reel.
Every ticket purchase, donation, every share, and every act of kindness makes a difference. Let’s show the Hill Country what this community is made of. The winner will be announced on August 21st.
